Notes from a messy house

Hello, it's Gill here.
Sorry it's been so long since I wrote anything but as you can imagine I have lots going on. Yesterday I had my last day at work and I feel really tired. I could go on longer as I have some offers of supply for next week but Tony won't let me. I suppose he is right (for once) as I am getting quite close now. Who am I to complain - at least now I can put my feet up!
We've been having some work done on the kitchen over the last few weeks- not a new kitchen you understand, just bringing the old one into the 21st century! Hopefully the floor will be done tomorrow and then we'll be back to some kind of normality before the baby arrives.

From having nothing for the baby three weeks ago we now seem to be overrun with Moses baskets and baths as everyone has been so kind (or as Tony says; everyone thinks we are paupers). Tony's been really busy after school getting the nursery ready - bless him. He bought a lovely picture that one of his students made for her final A' level art exam. It's going to look great once it's framed.

Anyway, that tiredness I mentioned...well it has got the better of me for now.

Congrats on finishing work. Now put your feet up, stock up on books and dvds, relax and ENJOY these last few weeks as much as you can when you're internal organs are squashed up somewhere near your throat.

Well, good for Tony, it's time you sat back and just relaxed. I'm glad all seems to be going to plan, I hope you enjoy these last few weeks and I wish you a quick and painless giving birth(some people do have them I heard). I'm hoping to pop over some time in the summer to say hello to my little niece (and her parents too of course!), can't wait to see her.
Take care of yourselves.
love

Argh! Liz just gave it away - niece...her... and I was holding on till the end for the surprise announcement! Oh well, I guess the surprise has just been brought forward a few weeks and there's still the question of the name! Congrats on having a girl - none of those horrible male types that the world can do without :)
Thinking about you lots, honey. Like Siobhan says, take this opportunity to watch some of those films you've always wanted to see and scan those books you always wanted to read but never seemed to find the time for.
More than anything relax and enjoy every minute because it's a time you're going to remember for the rest of your life and it's better to remember it fondly. I'm sure a little girl couldn't wish for better parents.
Lots of love and hugs,
Claire x
